Audubon zoo

We were challenged to establish new symbols and signage for the Audubon Zoo. The current iconography for the zoo uses outdated statues and lacks a variety of animal icons. The zoo dates back to the early 1900's, and some of the visual concepts in use have not evolved with the times. The symbols are clearly outdated, therefore our goal is to create some new and innovative designs that please the modern day's eye. Our plan consisted of creating a set of ten distinct symbols that are easily legible in order to help visitors effortlessly navigate though the zoo. Our solution to these symbols were to incorporate both black and white as well as color, and are presented in both a distinguishable and representable way that allows them to converge together as a complete symbol set.
